Rawson-Saunders School – Our
Mission Our school provides an educational program for professionally diagnosed dyslexic students by using research-based
methods to meet the educational needs of each child in a supportive environment. Additionally, RS serves
as a unique and valuable resource to individuals affected by dyslexia through outreach, advocacy and awareness opportunities.

- The correlation between illiteracy and
crime is higher than smoking and cancer. (Hodgkinson, 1993)
- A student exiting first grade reading behind her peers has only
a 1 in 8 chance of catching up to grade level. (Juel, 1994)
- 35% of identified learning disabled individuals (i.e. severe dyslexics)
drop out of school.
- 15% of children suffer from some degree of dyslexia.
- Students who are identified early and receive appropriate
help can maximize their potential and achieve academic and life long success.
Rawson Saunders is the only full

Finding
Rawson-Saunders has changed our lives. Since all the students are dyslexic, it allows my children to just
be learners instead of kids with a learning disability. Maggie
